Ski resort of Vars

The resort of Vars is located in the heart of the Hautes Alpes, on the doorstep of the Queyras National Park - an entirely preserved natural forested environment. Vars offers the magnificent skiable area “la Forêt Blanche”, stretched out over more than 600 hectares with
altitudes between 1600 and 2750 meters. The privileged location and high altitude (1850 m) make Vars into one of the best snow covered resorts in France, while still benefiting from Mediterranean luminosity and climate.

The skiable area of “la Forêt Blanche” located across from La Meije Glaciers, between the rivers Durance and Ubaye, offers view on the Mont Blanc from the peak of Chabrières and benefits quality snow coverage.
This, if necessary, will be guaranteed by a grand system of artificial snow. The vast area that connects at the foot of Vars and Risoul provides 180 km of ski slopes accessible by a network of 51 ski lifts.

'The KL stadium, the speed skiing course of Vars (world records speed skiing at 243 km/h and mountain biking at 200 km/h) will please thrill seekers.
• The Freestyle Park, 8 hectares established at 2400 m altitude, awaits you in the center of the skiable area.
• JIB Freestyle Park accommodates all the amateurs of urban style, at front-side snow.
• With its numerous slopes inclined between 30 and 50% Vars is a preferred meeting place for Freeriders.
• Nordic and cross-country skiing: Approximately 35 km of traced ski trails through Larch forests.
Cross-country ski is proposed in the area of “la Fôret Blanche”.
